By Western blot, it detects a ~40 kDa protein representing RFX-B in Raji lymphoblastoid cell line.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues A(18) S E L G D P E D P G E E A C(31) of human RFX-B.

Target Information

Major histocompatibility (MHC) class II molecules are transmembrane proteins essential for immune system regulation.
The protein encoded by this gene, together with regulatory factor X-associated protein and regulatory factor-5, forms a complex that binds to the X box motif of MHC class II gene promoters and activates transcription.
This complex associates with the MHC class II transactivator, determining cell type specificity and inducibility of MHC class II expression.
The protein contains ankyrin repeats involved in protein-protein interactions.
Mutations in this gene are associated with bare lymphocyte syndrome type II, complementation group B.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, with only one showing activation activity.
