Target Information
BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a member of the CD28 superfamily of co-inhibitory receptors. It functions as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor that suppresses immune responses. BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression decreasing upon activation. It remains expressed on Th1 cells but not Th2 cells. BTLA interacts with the TNFR family member HVEM, forming a key pathway regulating lymphocyte activation and homeostasis.
