Target Information

Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein located in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and certain presynaptic structures in the cerebellum.
PSD-95 contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain. It plays a key role in clustering NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane in CNS neurons.
PSD-95 interacts with proteins sharing a C-terminal T/SXV motif, such as NMDA receptors, β1 adrenergic receptor, serotonin receptors, sodium channel subunits, and potassium channel subunits.
It also associates with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) through a PDZ-PDZ interaction.
