Carrier-Free

• Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute in water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
  Store at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, dilute in buffer with carrier protein (e.g., 0.1% BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
• Storage: Lyophilized protein stable at room temperature for 1 month; store at -20°C for long-term. Working aliquots with carrier protein stable ≥6 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a major mitogenic factor found in serum and secreted from platelet alpha-granules during coagulation. PDGF exists as three dimeric isoforms (PDGF-AA, AB, BB) composed of A and B chains. These isoforms interact with two distinct receptors (α and β) and exhibit differential binding affinities.

PDGF isoforms are potent mitogens for connective tissue cells such as fibroblasts, glial cells, smooth muscle cells, and epithelial cells. They also act as chemotactic agents for fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, neutrophils, and mononuclear cells. Additional reported activities include:

• Stimulation of granule release by neutrophils and monocytes
• Facilitation of steroid synthesis by Leydig cells
• Stimulation of collagen synthesis and collagenase activity
• Modulation of thrombospondin expression
• Induction of T cell IL-2 secretion and temporary down-regulation of IL-4 and IFN-γ
• Promotion of neuron survival and regeneration in the CNS
