Target Information
The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit predominantly expressed in the central nervous system. It exists in two forms: a 39 kDa form found in the brain and a 44 kDa form found in the retina. Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a member of the superfamily of negative regulators of G protein signaling. These complexes are localized in most brain regions, while Gb1–4 show no colocalization with RGS7 despite similar distribution patterns. This antibody specifically targets a peptide sequence within the D1 blade not found in Gb1–4.
