Target Information
AURKA (Aurora A) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates mitosis by association with centrosomes. Overexpression of AURKA occurs in many cancer types. Aurora A plays a key role in cell cycle regulation during anaphase and telophase, especially in the centrosome/spindle pole region during chromosome segregation. It is highly expressed in testis and weakly in skeletal muscle, thymus, and spleen. Aurora A is considered a potential target for anticancer drug development.
