Product Specific Information
In Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CCL4/MIP-1 beta is observed. No cross-reactivity with recombinant human CCL1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, recombinant mouse CCL1, 2, 6, 7, 9/10/MIP-1 gamma, 11, 12, 19, 21, 22, 25, 28, or recombinant rat CCL2, CCL20 is observed.
This antibody neutralizes the biological activity of recombinant mouse CCL3 and will not block the biological activity of recombinant human CCL3.
Target Information
MIP-1α (CCL3) and MIP-1β are CC chemokines involved in host immune response to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections. They regulate trafficking and activation of immune cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.
MIP-1α selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes, while MIP-1β attracts CD4+ lymphocytes. Both are also chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. Human and murine MIP-1α/β act on both human and murine hematopoietic cells.
