Target Information
Peptide binding to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules for presentation to CD4+ helper T cells is regulated by HLA-DM and HLA-DO.
These molecules accumulate in endosomal/lysosomal compartments and on B cell surfaces, modulating the dissociation of CLIP and promoting peptide exchange with HLA-DR.
Certain polymorphisms in HLA-DM genes may be associated with rheumatoid arthritis susceptibility.
HLA and MHC antibodies are essential in Immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens via LC-MS/MS.
