Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Target Information
This gene encodes a transmembrane protein containing a Smad interacting motif (SIM). Expression is induced by androgens and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), and the encoded protein suppresses androgen receptor and TGF-β signaling pathways through interactions with Smad proteins. Overexpression may contribute to various cancer types. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed.
