Target Information
CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin-8 (IL-8), a potent neutrophil chemotactic factor belonging to the GPCR family. Binding of IL-8 to CXCR2 activates neutrophils via a G-protein mediated phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. This receptor binds IL-8, GRO/MGSA, and NAP-2 with high affinity and is expressed in various tissues including placenta and thymus.
