Target Information
CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin-8 (IL-8), a potent neutrophil chemotactic factor and member of the GPCR family. Binding of IL-8 to CXCR2 activates neutrophils through a G-protein–mediated phosphatidylinositol-calcium signaling pathway. The receptor binds IL-8, GRO/MGSA, and NAP-2 with high affinity and is expressed in various tissues, including human placenta and thymus.
