Target Information
Kallikreins, including Kallikrein 6, are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and have potential as novel cancer and disease biomarkers. KLK6 is regulated by steroid hormones and has been shown to generate amyloidogenic fragments from amyloid precursor protein, suggesting possible involvement in Alzheimer’s disease.
