Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C, protected from light, for up to 1 week.
For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The Vesicular GABA Amino Acid Transporter (VGAT) is responsible for transport of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA into synaptic vesicles (McIntire et al., 1997).
VGAT (also known as Vesicular Inhibitory Amino Acid Transporter, VIAAT) is expressed in synaptic vesicles of both glycine and GABAergic synapses throughout the CNS (Chaudhry et al., 1998).
Expression of VGAT changes during development and in response to neuronal activity patterns (De et al., 2005).
