Description:
This erongr2 monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse early growth response 2 (Egr2, Krox-20). Egr2 is a zinc finger-containing transcription factor important for the development of T cells and NKT cells. It is predominantly expressed in the thymus and nervous system and upregulated in T cells following TCR-crosslinking. Upregulation has also been observed in mouse splenocytes stimulated with PMA and ionomycin. Egr2 antagonizes T cell activation and promotes apoptosis. The erongr2 antibody modestly stains a subpopulation of T and B cells in freshly isolated spleen cells and does not crossreact with Egr3.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg per test. One test is defined as staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in:

• IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49)
• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57)

for up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C with minimal impact on brightness and compensation. Clone-specific performance should be determined empirically.

Target Information

The EGR2 gene encodes early growth response 2, a transcription factor that binds DNA and regulates gene expression. It activates genes involved in myelin formation and maintenance, essential for nerve impulse transmission. Mutations in EGR2 are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1D or 4E, and Dejerine-Sottas syndrome.
