Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody IgE21 recognizes the immunoglobulin E (IgE) class of antibodies.
IgE levels in serum are naturally low and play a key role in allergic responses by binding to mast cells and basophils via the Fc epsilon receptor I, leading to histamine release. IgE is produced by plasma B cells and basophils, existing in both soluble and membrane-bound forms. IgE21 recognizes both.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume.
Light Sensitivity: Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 775 nm
Laser Compatibility: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
IgE is one of the five major immunoglobulin classes in mammals, consisting of two epsilon heavy chains and two light chains. It plays a central role in type I hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., hay fever, asthma, hives, anaphylaxis) by binding to Fc receptors on mast cells and basophils, leading to degranulation and allergic responses. IgE also contributes to immune defense against parasitic infections.
