Target Information

The protein encoded by the EPCR/PROCR gene acts as a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease involved in the blood coagulation pathway. It is an N-glycosylated type I membrane protein that enhances protein C activation. Mutations in this gene are associated with venous thromboembolism, myocardial infarction, and late fetal loss during pregnancy.
