This antibody reacts with human Histone H3.2. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, and C. elegans. Predicted to react with Rat, Chicken, Xenopus, Drosophila, and Plant based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Histone H3 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. H3, along with four core histone proteins, binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation of histone tails influence chromatin structure and transcription factor binding.
