Target Information
The SEC23B protein is a member of the SEC23 subfamily within the SEC23/SEC24 family, which plays a key role in vesicle trafficking. It shares similarity with the yeast Sec23p component of the COPII complex, responsible for vesicle budding from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This protein is involved in cargo selection and concentration. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
