Target Information
Alpha Tubulin forms a heterodimer with beta Tubulin, both approximately 55 kDa, serving as the fundamental building block of microtubules in eukaryotic cells. Microtubules provide structural support, intracellular transport pathways, and play a critical role in mitosis. Alpha and beta tubulins are highly conserved across species, with alpha Tubulin closely related to mouse and rat Tuba1 genes. Expression is predominantly found in differentiated neurologic cells.
