Target Information
Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is essential for normal mitosis progression.
APC10 is a highly conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase controlling progression through mitosis and the G1 phase.
APC/C mediates degradation of anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins to ensure proper sequence of mitotic events.
APC10 is suggested to regulate substrate binding to the APC/C complex, similar to coactivators.
