Target Information
The Cyclophilin F protein belongs to the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family, which catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides, facilitating protein folding. Cyclophilin F is a component of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Activation of this pore is implicated in apoptotic and necrotic cell death mechanisms.
