Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human GRK2. A BLAST analysis of the sequence shows 100% reactivity to human, and 90% to rat, mouse, and golden hamster.
Target Information
ADRBK1 (GRK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylates G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). GRK2 (83 kDa) is one of six members of the GRK family and is ubiquitously expressed in mammals.
Upon ligand binding, GPCRs are phosphorylated by GRKs, leading to internalization regulated by beta-arrestin-1 and activation of the Ras–Raf–ERK1&2 signaling pathway.
GRK2 activity is modulated by phosphorylation (PKC, Src, ERK1&2) and protein interactions. ERK-mediated phosphorylation at serine 670 inactivates GRK2 via negative feedback.
