Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human neuronal migration protein doublecortin. Blast analysis of the immunogen sequence shows 100% identity with rat.
Target Information
In the developing cortex, cortical neurons migrate over long distances to reach their final differentiation site. DCX is a cytoplasmic protein that regulates neuronal migration by organizing and stabilizing microtubules.
It contains two doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and interacts with LIS1, the regulatory gamma subunit of platelet activating factor acetylhydrolase.
This interaction is essential for proper microtubule function in the developing cortex. Mutations in the DCX gene cause X-linked lissencephaly.
