Target Information
GAK (Cyclin-G-associated kinase) is a serine/threonine kinase originally identified as a cyclin G-associated protein. It does not activate CDK5 nor affect CDK5 kinase activity. GAK functions as an auxilin homolog involved in the uncoating of clathrin-coated vesicles by Hsc70 in non-neuronal cells. Expression oscillates slightly during the cell cycle, peaking at G1 phase.
