Target Information

EP400 is a component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, involved in transcriptional activation of select genes by acetylating nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. This modification alters nucleosome–DNA interactions and promotes binding of modified histones with other proteins that regulate transcription. EP400 may be required for activation of E2F1 and MYC target genes during cell proliferation. The NuA4 complex’s ATPase and helicase activities are partly contributed by RUVBL1 and RUVBL2 association with EP400. It may also regulate ZNF42 transcription activity.
