Target Information
eIF4E는 번역 효율 향상, 스플라이싱, mRNA 안정성, RNA 핵 내 수출 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여하는 단백질입니다. 모든 진핵세포 mRNA는 5’ 말단에 7-메틸구아노신 캡(m7GpppX)을 가지며, eIF4E는 이 캡 구조에 리보솜을 유도하는 번역 개시 인자입니다.
eIF4E는 24 kDa 폴리펩타이드로, 자유형과 EIF4F 복합체 형태로 존재합니다. EIF4F는 EIF4E, EIF4A(ATPase 및 RNA helicase 활성 보유), EIF4G(220 kDa)로 구성되며, eIF4E는 진핵 단백질 합성의 속도 제한 요소로 작용합니다.
