Target Information
TBK1 (TANK-binding kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase and member of the IKK family involved in NF-κB activation and IRF3 signaling. It plays a key role in immune and inflammatory responses by mediating gene expression. TBK1 phosphorylates IKKβ and activates NF-κB in response to growth factors and PMA. It functions upstream of NIK and the IKK complex and is essential for protecting embryonic liver cells from apoptosis.
