Antibody detects endogenous levels of total IL12RB1.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the hemopoietin receptor superfamily. It binds to interleukin 12 with low affinity and is a component of the IL12 receptor complex. This protein forms a disulfide-linked oligomer required for IL12 binding activity. Coexpression with IL12RB2 leads to high-affinity IL12 binding and IL12-dependent signaling. Deficiency of this gene is associated with immunodeficiency involving severe mycobacterial and Salmonella infections. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
