• Predicted reactivity: Dog (82%), Pig (82%), Rabbit (86%), Sheep (81%)
• IHC notes: Requires antigen retrieval using heat-mediated 10 mM Citrate buffer (pH 6.0) or Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0)
• Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.

Target Information

This gene encodes a serine protease involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix and possibly tumor cell migration and proliferation.
A specific polymorphism in this gene may be associated with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease and decreased affinity for fibrin binding.
This protein converts plasminogen to plasmin by specific cleavage of an Arg-Val bond. Plasmin subsequently cleaves this protein at a Lys-Ile bond to form a two-chain derivative (HMW-uPA) connected by a disulfide bond.
HMW-uPA can be further processed into LMW-uPA, which is proteolytically active but does not bind to the uPA receptor.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
