세 개의 CAP-GLY 도메인, proline-rich 영역, SH3 결합 도메인, 그리고 UCH 촉매 도메인과의 상동성을 포함합니다.
CYLD는 종양 억제 단백질로 JNK 신호전달 경로에 영향을 미치며, TRAF2 및 NF-κB 신호경로의 음성 조절자로 작용합니다.
또한 Lys-48 비연결형 폴리유비퀴틴 사슬에 대한 탈유비퀴틴화 활성을 가지며, TRAP1은 새로운 기질로 알려져 있습니다.
CYLD 유전자의 돌연변이는 cylindromatosis, multiple familial trichoepithelioma, Brooke-Spiegler syndrome과 관련되어 있습니다.
