ADAMTS-1은 ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif) 단백질 계열에 속하며, 프로펩타이드 영역, 메탈로프로테이나제 도메인, 디스인터그린 유사 도메인, 그리고 thrombospondin type 1 (TS) 모티프를 포함합니다.
이 단백질은 두 개의 디스인터그린 루프와 세 개의 C-말단 TS 모티프를 가지며, 항혈관신생 활성을 나타냅니다.
ADAMTS1 유전자의 발현은 염증 반응 및 암 악액질(cancer cachexia)과 관련될 수 있으며, 정상적인 성장, 생식력, 장기 형태 및 기능 유지에 필수적일 것으로 추정됩니다.
