Target Information

The neuropeptide galanin modulates various physiological processes including cognition/memory, sensory and pain processing, hormone secretion, and feeding behavior.
Human galanin receptors are G protein-coupled receptors that interact with intracellular effectors through distinct signaling pathways.
GALR3 is expressed in multiple tissues and may appear as 1.4-, 2.4-, and 5-kb transcripts. It has been reported in brain, testis, adrenal gland, and pancreas.
