Target Information
KRT16은 케라틴 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 상피세포의 구조적 안정성을 담당하는 중간 필라멘트 단백질입니다. 대부분의 Type I cytokeratin은 산성 단백질로 구성되어 있으며, 이들은 이형성 케라틴 사슬로 쌍을 이루며 염색체 17q12-q21 영역에 클러스터되어 있습니다. 이 단백질은 식도, 혀, 모낭 등 다양한 상피 조직에서 keratin 14와 함께 발현됩니다. KRT16 유전자 변이는 Type 1 pachyonychia congenita, 비표피용성 palmoplantar keratoderma 및 unilateral palmoplantar verrucous nevus와 관련이 있습니다.
