PA1-4163 detects IKAP in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~158 kDa protein representing IKAP in Interleukin-1-stimulated 293 cells.
The PA1-4163 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues I(148) H Q D D F G E S K F I T V(161) of human IKAP.
This sequence is 92% conserved in rat and 85% conserved in mouse.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a scaffold protein and a regulator for three different kinases involved in proinflammatory signaling.
It can bind NF-kappa-B-inducing kinase (NIK) and IKKs through separate domains and assemble them into an active kinase complex.
Mutations in this gene have been associated with familial dysautonomia.
