Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
EIF2a (Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2A) is a heterotrimer composed of three subunits (alpha, beta, and gamma). This translation initiation factor mediates the binding of initiator methionyl-tRNA to the 40S ribosome in an AUG-dependent manner to form the 43S pre-initiation complex.
The protein can be phosphorylated by stress-activated kinases, and phosphorylated EIF2A inhibits EIF2B activity, preventing guanine nucleotide exchange.
