Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CHCHD6.
Target Information
CHCHD6 is a member of a family of proteins containing a conserved (coiled coil 1)-(helix 1)-(coiled coil 2)-(helix 2) domain and is found in a complex with mitochondrial proteins such as mitofilin, SAM50, metaxins 1 and 2, and CHCHD3.
Knockdown of CHCHD6 causes defects in mitochondrial cristae morphology, reduced cell growth, ATP production, and oxygen consumption.
CHCHD6 reduction also decreases mitofilin levels, and vice versa, indicating coordinated regulation.
Furthermore, CHCHD6 knockdown in human cancer cells increases sensitivity to genotoxic anticancer drugs, suggesting CHCHD6 as a potential therapeutic anti-tumor target.
