Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The origin recognition complex (ORC) is a highly conserved six-subunit protein complex essential for the initiation of DNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Studies in yeast show that ORC binds specifically to origins of replication and serves as a platform for assembly of initiation factors such as Cdc6 and Mcm proteins.
The ORC1 protein is the largest subunit of this complex. Its levels vary during the cell cycle and are regulated by ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis after initiation of DNA replication. It is selectively phosphorylated during mitosis and interacts with MYST histone acetyltransferase 2 (MyST2/HBO1), involved in transcriptional silencing.
