Product Specific Information

Description:
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit, an IgE-binding subunit lacking signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is up-regulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits containing ITAM motifs. The FcεRI complex is crucial for triggering IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of MC/9 mouse mast cell line. Recommended ≤0.06 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for best performance.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®. It emits at 445 nm and is excited by the violet laser (405 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information

FceR1 (FcεRIα) is a subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE, forming a tetrameric complex (α, β, and two γ subunits). The complex initiates allergic responses by coupling allergen-bound IgE molecules with mast cells, leading to release of histamine and other mediators. This process is central to hypersensitivity reactions such as hay fever and asthma.
