FBXW8 encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. These proteins form part of the ubiquitin ligase complex SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box), which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
