Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide (final concentration 0.05–0.1%) to prevent contamination.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal clones for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody specifically recognizes Human IL-15/IL15/Interleukin 15.
Target Information
IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation. It shares biological activities with IL-2, binding common receptor subunits and potentially competing for the same receptor sites.
IL-15 activates JAK kinases and transcription factors STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6. It may increase expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-xL via STAT6, helping prevent apoptosis.
IL-15 plays key roles in:
- Growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes
- Activation of NK cells, macrophages, and monocytes
- Immune responses and autoimmune disease pathogenesis
It is implicated in inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammation. Neutralization of IL-15 shows therapeutic potential in models of psoriasis and diabetes.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
