The Applied Biosystems™ Human GAPD (GAPDH) Endogenous Control (VIC™/TAMRA™ Probe, Primer Limited) is intended as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples when used with other TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays.
Probe is labeled with VIC™ dye and TAMRA™ dye, and primers are limited. Can be used for multiplex or singleplex PCR reactions.
Endogenous control is compatible with Inventoried and Made-to-Order TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, Custom TaqMan™ Gene Expression Assays, and/or Custom TaqMan™ Primers and Probes.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls simplify the process of selecting appropriate controls for quantitative gene expression across common human, mouse, rat, and eukaryotic genes.

Simple to Use

All components are QC-tested, formulated into a single 20X mix, and functionally tested.
Compatible with universal conditions for two-step RT-PCR.
Use with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA samples for sensitive, reproducible quantitative results.
Compatible instruments include Applied Biosystems 7900HT, 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems, and the 7000 and 7700 Sequence Detection Systems.

Flexible Offering

Each endogenous control uses 5′ nuclease chemistry for maximum flexibility.
Available configurations:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM) with two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting cDNA input differences.
Ensure consistent expression across all samples.
For multiplexing, the endogenous control gene should be more abundantly expressed than the target gene.

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

• VIC™ dye-labeled controls are primer limited, suitable for multiplexing when control gene expression exceeds target gene expression.
• FAM™ dye-labeled controls are not primer limited and are intended for singleplex use.
