Target Information

SRPK2, along with SRPK1, is likely the cellular protein kinase mediating HBV core protein phosphorylation during viral infection, representing an important host cell target for therapeutic intervention.
It promotes neuronal apoptosis by up-regulating cyclin-D1 (CCND1) expression through phosphorylation of SRSF2, suppressing p53/TP53 phosphorylation and relieving repression on cyclin-D1 expression.
Phosphorylates ACIN1, redistributing it from nuclear speckles to nucleoplasm, leading to cyclin A1 up-regulation.
Plays a key role in spliceosomal B complex formation via phosphorylation of DDX23/PRP28.
Negatively regulates HBV replication by reducing packaging efficiency of pregenomic RNA (pgRNA) without affecting viral core particle formation.
