Target Information
The casein kinase I (CKI) gene family encodes serine/threonine kinases that preferentially phosphorylate acidic substrates. CKI proteins are monomeric and range from 25 to 55 kDa. They are ubiquitous, found in the nuclei, cytoplasm, and membrane fractions of eukaryotic cells. CKI is involved in regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
