NPM1 (Nucleophosmin 1, B23, nutramin, NO38)은 리보솜 조립 및 수송, 세포질/핵 간 단백질 이동, DNA polymerase α 활성 조절, 중심체 복제, p53 조절 등에 관여하는 인산화 단백질입니다.
NPM1은 핵, 세포질, 핵소체 사이를 지속적으로 이동하며, 핵 단백질의 샤페론 역할을 수행합니다. 또한 단백질 응집 방지, 효소 보호, 변성 단백질의 재활성화에 기여합니다.
NPM1은 여러 종양 관련 융합 단백질(NPM-ALK, NPM-RAR, NPM-MLF1)의 구성 요소로 작용하며, 중심체 복제 시 CDK2/cyclin E의 기질로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질의 기능 이상은 급성 골수성 백혈병(AML) 및 림프종성 육아종증과 같은 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
