Target Information

KLF17 is a transcription repressor that binds to target gene promoters to inhibit expression. It acts as a negative regulator of epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis in breast cancer by binding to the 5'-CACCC-3' promoter sequence of ID1, a key metastasis regulator. KLF17 may also function as a germ cell-specific transcription factor involved in spermatid differentiation and oocyte development.
