Target Information
Calreticulin (Calr) is a calcium-binding chaperone involved in protein folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. As a lectin, Calr transiently interacts with most monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER. It also binds to the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 to mediate nuclear export and may regulate maternal gene expression and oocyte maturation via calcium homeostasis.
