Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 동일한 37 kDa 서브유닛 4개로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다.
이 효소는 NADPH 존재하에서 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시키며, 해당과정 외에도 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다.
GAPDH는 DNA 복제, DNA 수선, 핵 RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 여러 세포 과정에 참여하며, 세포 사멸(apoptosis)과 노화 관련 신경퇴행성 질환에서 유전자 발현 조절에도 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한, 알츠하이머병(AD) 관련 amyloid precursor protein 및 헌팅턴병 관련 Huntingtin 단백질과 결합하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석 시 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
