Target Information
IRF2 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 2) belongs to the interferon regulatory factor family.
It regulates transcription important for cell proliferation and immune responses by binding to the upstream regulatory region of type I IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class I genes (interferon consensus sequence, ICS) and repressing these genes.
Additionally, IRF2 functions as a transcriptional activator of histone H4 through interactions with NF-kappa B.
