Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically binds to the IL-3R alpha-chain and completely abolishes its function. IL-3R is expressed on myeloid, lymphoid, and vascular endothelial cells, where it transduces IL-3-dependent signals leading to cell activation.
Target Information
IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family and forms a heterodimer with a unique alpha chain paired with the common beta (βc or CDw131) subunit. IL-3Ra is responsible for transmitting the signal of Interleukin-3.
Heterodimerization of IL-3Ra and IL-3Rb chains is induced by Interleukin-3, which is required for receptor activation but not high-affinity binding.
IL-3Ra subunits are reported to be overexpressed on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared with normal hematopoietic cells, making them potential targets for novel therapeutic agents.
