Product Specific Information
MA5-17054 targets CDKN2A in FACS, IHC, indirect ELISA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CDKN2A (amino acids 1–156) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17054 detects CDKN2A with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 16.5 kDa.
Target Information
The CDKN2A gene generates several transcript variants differing in their first exons.
At least three alternatively spliced variants encode distinct proteins, two of which function as inhibitors of CDK4 kinase.
Another transcript includes an alternate first exon located 20 Kb upstream, encoding a structurally unrelated ARF protein that stabilizes tumor suppressor p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2.
Despite structural and functional differences, these isoforms share a common role in cell cycle G1 control through CDK4 and p53 regulation.
This gene is frequently mutated or deleted in various tumors and is known as an important tumor suppressor gene.
